Eat. Drink. Blog.
Seeing as there were only 45 seats available at the first Australian Food Bloggers Conference ‘Eat.Drink.Blog’, I was beside myself with joy when I received the invitation to be part of the conference. It was a bit like finding the Golden Ticket to the Willy Wonka Factory for me, and after yesterday’s huge Eat.Drink.Blog conference, I have every reason to believe that it was quite as magical as a trip into the WW factory.

Brainchilld of @Reemski and made into reality by herself, @tomatom, @tummyrumbles, @myfoodtrail and a few others, Eat.Drink.Blog began bright and early at 8.45am for us all at The Essential Ingredient at Prahran market. Many arrived on time tho the cries for coffee was echoed by many that were present. Reasonable, when you consider the fact that it was a Sunday, but I doubt that any of the 45 foodies that were there that morning would have rather stayed home for a lay-in.

Ed from Tomatom welcoming us to Eat.Drink.Blog 2010
@tammois was host for the day and a fantastic host she was. Always lively and so skillful at keeping the floor alive with heated discussions throughout the day while trying her hardest to ensure that everyone’s voices were heard loud and clear. The panels for the day were:
- How and why we blog
- Practicalities of Photography
- Copyright, ethics & legalities
- SEO and how to be social
- Making money through blogging

Ellie from Kitchen Wench sharing her valuable insights on photography taking.
The panelists were informative and entertaining but my favourite panel was that about SEO as it was one of the things that my blog sorely lack. Even more amusing however, was the live broadcast of the twitterfall #eatdrinkblog on twitter. It really proved that twitter was taking over the world and the non-twitter savvy in the room must have felt the urge to join the masses especially after yesterday’s twitterfall hall of fame.

Lunch was provided for by St. Ali and drinks by Daylesford and Hepburn Mineral Springs Co. I had a veg sandwich on multigrain bread. I didn’t realise it was multigrain bread as it was in a sandwich bag, with just the label veg/cheese on it. Very lucky dip-ish. So while the filling and the vegies in it were delicious and fresh, the bread really wasn’t to my taste. Getting grains stuck between my teeth… really isn’t a hot look.

After lunch we headed back upstairs for more panels only to find more delicious sweets and fruit tarts awaiting our aching sweet tooth. Absolutely scrumptious!
And with that more panels and more giggling at Twitterfall continued through the afternoon. I felt a little sorry for the last panelists: Phil from Last Appetite and Jules from Stone Soup. The promise of Cocktail hour after the finish of the panels had people impatient and cloamouring for the watering hole. As a result, the panels ended slightly ahead of schedule with people running off to their cars and taking off to the next destination in record speed. What can I say? Booze talks!
